Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to use our Global Flavors Bio Still Cleaner.

Introducing the WORLD’S BEST still cleaner

Global Flavors Bio Still Cleaner is a 2 part product.

Part One is alkaline (ALK) and Part Two is acidic (ACD).

Instructions for Part One ALK

  1. Add the 250ml ALK bottle to 6 litres of hot water (approx 40°C)
  2. Set aside a litre for cleaning your cooling system (see Instructions to Clean the Inside of the Cooling System, below)
  3. Clean the inside of the cooling pipe now, before anything else
  4. Add the remaining 5 litres to your boiler and turn it on
  5. Run it for 10 minutes at 60°C to 65°C
  6. Empty out the ALK liquid
  7. Once the boiler has cooled down, use a soft cloth or sponge and that litre you kept aside to clean down the outside of the boiler, then dry

Instructions for Part Two ACD

  1. Add the 250ml ACD bottle to 5 litres of hot water (approx 40°C)
  2. Add it to your boiler and turn it on
  3. Run it for 10 minutes at 60°C to 65°CStill Cleaner, Distillers Yeast, Airlocks, White Rum, Spiced Rum, Food Grade Glycerine, spirit essences, spirit essence, home distilling, Sambucca, liqueur essences, liquid smoke, oak chips
  4. Empty out the ACD liquid

Instructions to Clean the Inside of the Cooling System

  1. Fasten the inlet and outlet of the water system with a plastic tie, rubber bands or similar
  2. Ensure this is above the height of the still, use a hose adaptor to fit a funnel to one of the ends (See Pic at right)
  3. After 5 mins release the hoses, flush with water, and reconnect.

One of the beliefs of distilling is that leaving the residues from past operations heightens the flavour of the end product.

This is completely false, as an exact example mixing a xmas fruit cake and not cleaning it for the next year’s pud will make it taste better… more likely it will poison you!

  • Clean fresh ingredients as in fruit and grain will always give you the superior taste
  • You wouldn’t go to a restaurant that didn’t clean its pots and pans.

Cleaning should be carried out every 6 distillations, more frequently if high class vodka is the goal.

Until next time… Happy Distilling!

Cheers
